Canada Energy And Energy Resources Tariff List Updated

As we reported last week, on March 19, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued guidance regarding the additional 10% tariff on Canadian energy and energy resources applicable as of March 4, 2025, except for USMCA-eligible products as of March 7, 2025. The March 19 guidance included a spreadsheet listing products/HTS codes falling under the scope of energy and energy resources.

On March 24, 2025, CBP issued an updated guidance, which included the revised spreadsheet listing products/HTS codes falling under the scope of energy and energy resources. This spreadsheet fully replaces the one released on March 19. For ease of reference, we have compiled a separate spreadsheet indicating which products/HTS codes were added and which products/HTS codes were removed.

Please note that the list is not exhaustive and CBP is advising interested parties to file ruling requests to confirm whether products fall within the scope of energy and energy resources.

Should you have any questions concerning the newly released HTS codes, applicability to your products, or filing a ruling request, please contact one of the trade professionals listed here.
